Aurora Project Launch Announcement
Tuesday, August 29, TELUS World of Science – Edmonton revealed a never-before-seen 3D model and display of the science centre’s ambitious $40 million Aurora Project. The Display and 3D model provides the first physical representation of the science centre’s highly anticipated 20,000 sq. ft. expansion and re-imagination. As the Aurora Project moves into the next phase of construction, this 3D model provides a unique visual, allowing guests to clearly see what the science centre will become.
“The Aurora Project will ensure inspiration for generations to come and we want to share that excitement with the community,” said Alan Nursall, President and CEO of TELUS World of Science – Edmonton. “Tuesday [August 29] is an opportunity for us to reveal the new plans and celebrate with the community the beginning of the next phase of developent. We invite everyone to come out and see how the science centre will be bigger, bolder and incorporate more science, interactivity and innovation than ever before.”
The next phase of the Aurora Project will begin Tuesday, September 5, and includes the complete renovation and upgrade of the iconic Margaret Zeidler Star Theatre planetarium and the beloved Space Place gallery.
